This webpage describes the updates Acquia made to Cloud Platform in 2023. For the latest updates, see Release notes.
Change [Cloud Next] The Utilization by Service Layer and Utilization by Resource charts are no longer available in the Cloud Platform user interface. During initial testing of this Beta feature, Acquia received user feedback and found a few areas for improvement. Until such feedback is addressed, Acquia has hidden the Stack Metrics charts from the Cloud Platform user interface.
Change [Cloud Next] PHP is updated to 8.1.24 and 8.2.11.
Change [Cloud Next] The Percona toolkit is upgraded to v3.5.5.
Change [Cloud Next] New Relic is upgraded to v10.14.0.3.
Change [Cloud Next] The project’s vendor/bin directory is added
to the PATH environment variable ahead of /usr/local/bin. With this,
global calls to Drush defaults to the vendor version.
Feature [Cloud Next] The mod_proxy configuration feature is available for all Cloud Next environments.
Change The password functionality in the Cloud Platform user interface is enhanced to support the Password Have I Been Pwned? module. This ensures that the system validates your password against a list of compromised passwords and prevents you from specifying such passwords.
Change [Cloud Next] Cloud Next environments are updated to use the Memcached version 1.6.22.
Change [Cloud Next] Cloud Platform creates the AURABot user in
your organization-level team called RA-BOT-team. This user is visible only if you are using Remote Administration to deploy Drupal updates on your
Cloud Next environments. For more information, see Cloud Next.
Change [Cloud Next] New Relic is upgraded to v10.13.0.2.
Fix [Cloud Next] New Relic reported the duration of
certain Drupal-specific HTTP requests incorrectly. For example,
Drupal calls to Acquia Search or other Solr endpoints were not reported
correctly. To ensure that the reports are accurate, PHP global configurations
are updated to leverage the newrelic.guzzle.enabled flag in New Relic.
This flag controls the reporting of the PHP Guzzle library’s external
requests.
Change [Cloud Next] New Relic is upgraded to v10.12.0.1.
Change [Cloud Next] Cloud Platform is enhanced to disable transaction tracing and dynamic tracing in New Relic. For more information about the New Relic setting, see Transaction tracer .ini settings.
Change Cloud Platform no longer supports PHP 8.0.
Change The default version of PHP in Cloud Platform is 8.1.
Change When you copy files or databases from a Cloud Next environment to a Cloud Classic environment, Cloud Platform can execute cloud hooks.
Change [Cloud Next] PHP is updated to 8.0.30 and 8.1.22.
Change [Cloud Next] Security patches are applied to PHP 7.4.33.
Fix [Cloud Next] When the code for database connection was not included in Drupal’s settings.php file, Cloud Platform displayed a warning message.
Fix When trying to update IdP details in the Cloud Platform user interface, the system did not update the SSO URL parameter.
Fix When users requested to view data for multiple months in Stack Metrics, Cloud Platform could not render the graphs correctly.
Change [Cloud Next] PHP is updated to 7.4.33 and 8.1.21.
Fix [Cloud Next] The AH_NETWORK_KEY and AH_NETWORK_IDENTIFIER
environment variables were incorrectly set.
Change When you request an access token from accounts that you want to use in Cloud API, the system does not add organization scopes that are not requested in the access token. For information about the impact of this change, see Federated Authentication requires a workaround.
Change [Cloud Next] The Percona toolkit is upgraded to v3.5.4.
Change [Cloud Next] Cloud Next environments are updated to use the Memcached version 1.6.21.
Fix When users requested to view 6 months of data in Stack Metrics,
Cloud Platform picked incorrect value for the
resolution parameter, and displayed an inaccurate error message.
Change [Cloud Next] The interned_string_buffers parameter is
updated to have the default value of 24 MB. In addition, existing settings
are increased by 16 MB up to a maximum value of 32 MB.
Change [Cloud Next] Cloud Platform APIs are enhanced to exclude the enablement of the Live Development mode in Cloud Next applications.

Change [Cloud Next] New Relic is upgraded to v10.10.0.1
Change [Cloud Next] The Percona toolkit is upgraded to v3.5.3.
Fix [Cloud Next] In Drupal sites, the security hardening mechanism that prevents PHP to run from the files directory was not enforced correctly.
Change [Cloud Next] You can view the acquia-request-id
parameter for traces under Custom attributes in the New Relic user interface.
By leveraging the value of this parameter, you can match traces to logs
downloaded from the log download or log forwarding feature.
Change [Cloud Next] For Drupal 8 or later sites upgrading to Cloud
Next, the system overrides $settings['reverse_proxy_addresses'] and sets
it to platform defaults if the parameter is not set. Therefore, BLT 11.x
users can upgrade such sites to Cloud Next without upgrading the BLT version.
Change [Cloud Next] Like Cloud Classic, Cloud Next environments
leverage the robots.txt file to block search engines from crawling
acquia-sites.com domains.
