This article provides instructions on how to access and use the Quality Assurance Dictionary.
The Dictionary allows users to add frequently-used words that the spellcheck consistently flags as misspelled words or potentially misspelled words to the scan. The scan ignores words that you add to the dictionary.
Access the Dictionary
This section provides instructions on how to access the Dictionary.
Click Quality Assurance (the checkbox icon), on the window toolbar.
The Quality Assurance page opens.
Click Spellcheck from the menu on the left.
The menu expands.
Select Dictionary from the expanded menu.
The Account Dictionary page opens.
Export the Dictionary
This section provides instructions on how to export the list of words added to the Account Dictionary list.
Export (export icon): Click to export the list. A "Select your export file" dialog opens.
In the dialog, click the export name (Account Dictionary, in this example).
A message informs you that: "Your export is currently being generated.
You will receive an email when the export is ready." Click on your user avatar on the main menu bar and select My Exports to see the current progress.
X: Click the X icon at the top left side of the window to close the dialog box.

This section provides instructions on how to add a word to the Account Dictionary.
Click Action from the Account Dictionary.
Click the drop-down arrow on the same row as a potential misspelling and select the action to perform for this word.
Add to dictionary: Approve this spelling and add it to the language dictionary so that future scans do not flag it as misspelled. This action is case-sensitive by default.
Add to dictionary for all languages: Approve this spelling (product names, for example) and add it to the language dictionary for all languages so that future scans will not flag it as misspelled. This action is case-sensitive by default.
Important
! The dictionary will not distinguish between capitalized and non-capitalized words if the option Ignore Capitalized Words is turned on.
Edit a word in the Dictionary
It is not possible to edit a word from within the Dictionary. It can be done, however.
Follow the steps in this guide to remove the word from the dictionary.
On the website, ensure that the correct spelling is present within the html code in at least one location. Make a note of the location.
Scan the website. Both instances of the word are caught by the scan and appear in the Misspelled Words section.
Follow the steps in this article to select the correct word and then add it to the dictionary.
If needed, follow the steps in this document for how to use PageCorrect to do a search-and-replace throughout the website. Note that changes made with PageCorrect are superficial and should be reported to the proper team to fix within the original source material.
Remove a word from the Dictionary
This section provides instructions on how to remove a word from the Account Dictionary.
From the Account Dictionary page:
Locate the word to remove.
Click Remove from Dictionary on the same row as the word.
A dialog opens, asking "Are you sure you want to remove the word *word* from the dictionary?"
Click OK to remove the word, or click Cancel to cancel the request.
The word is removed from the dictionary and after the next scan it will show up in the Misspelled Words or Potentially Misspelled Words list, if applicable.
Ignore capitalized words
Words that the user includes in the Dictionary are case-sensitive. To instruct the scan to ignore words that are written in all caps, and bypass the need to, for example, add the word to the dictionary, follow the steps below for instructions about the Spelling ignore capitalized words option.
Click Settings (gear icon) at the top of the Domain Overview page. The Admin Settings page opens.
Note
The Settings button is only available to site admins.
Click Action. on the same row as the domain to scan. The list expands.
Select Edit Domain in the drop-down list
The Edit Domain page opens.
Toggle the Spelling Ignore Capitalized Words button to turn it ON.
How to do a "Search and replace"
If a misspelled word is detected repeatedly throughout the website, this option lets you replace the word in bulk.
Search-and-replace all spellings of the words with PageCorrect:
Click PageCorrect (icon of a shield with a checkmark).
From the menu on the left-hand side of the page, click List.
The PageCorrect Content page opens.
Use or apply custom PageCorrect: Click Use or Apply Custom PageCorrect, on the top right side of the page.
A dialog opens. Fill in the fields:
Target: Enter a word or phrase to search for.
Word or Phrase: Enter a word or phrase to replace it with.
Save.
The custom word or phrase appears in the list.
Click Action on the sane row as the custom entry. Select:
The Spellcheck feature scans for misspelled words in the primary language of the page by default. In the case that the page language is something other than the primary language of the domain, words can be marked as potential misspellings if they are not found in the dictionary even if they are correctly spelled in the language of origin. Turn on the Use Language Attribute function in domain configuration to avoid this.
If the Web Governance subscription ends, the error will still be present in the website HTML. It is recommended to assign a web developer to fix the issue within the HTML code. Make a note of the location(s) of the broken link or other error and send it to the appropriate team for a permanent fix.
