The Layout canvas can be added to content entities to allow website editors to create content with rich layouts.

To add the Layout canvas you will add a Layout canvas field to your content entity. As an example, the steps below describe adding the Layout canvas field to a Content type. Follow the same process for other content entity types.

Adding the layout canvas field

• Navigate to Structure > Content types > (Select a content type)
• Click on Manage fields
• Click Add field
• Select Layout canvas in the Add a new field drop-down
  
  
  
   
• In the Field label, enter Layout canvas (or another descriptive label). 
• Click Save and continue
• On the next screen click Save settings.
